In addition to the comprehensive planning tasks, in junior year, students must begin to identify how to make themselves their most competitive in the application pool given their current profile with the time remaining before the Application Season begins. Juniors will, also, finalize their testing timeline. In addition, they will begin:

  •  College list research and preparation, starting with assessment results, the student's individualized college goals, and the family's financial fit to identify the appropriate target, reach and safety schools.

  • Resume development.

  • Personal statement and essay mentoring.

  • Overview of merit and need-based aid potential.

  • Strategic guidance through the Early Decision/Early Action decision-making process

  • Mock interviews in preparation for on-campus and alumni interviews with actual questions from top-tier schools.

  • Development of a concise, clear resume to highlight your strengths and accomplishments.

  • Suggestions to identify the best people from whom to request letters of recommendation.

  • Help with Personal Statement and supplemental essays including topic development and editing.

  • A detailed work plan to ensure that all applications and supporting materials are completed well ahead of deadlines.

  • Guidance if deferred or waitlisted.

  • Assistance in choosing a school and preliminary major once acceptances are received.
